This mountain is considered sacred. There is a special energy at its foot. It’s hard to put it into words: you can only feel it.
Ust-Kamenogorsk – Vasilyevskaya ferry – Ulken Naryn village (formerly Bolshenarym) – Katon-Karagay – Uryl – Berel is the pointer to the village of Yazovka, turn left from it (asphalt ends here and a complex blurred road with potholes and steep ascent begins) – Yazevoye lake. The rest of the way is covered on horseback.
The end point of the path is the Kokkol Waterfall. Tourists usually set up a tent camp nearby.
A trip to the Katon-Karagay district requires preliminary preparation. You will need a reliable car. It should be a really high-passable car that can overcome the steep ascents and the blurred road of the last 20 kilometers to the Yazev Lake. In general, the one-way car route has about 450 kilometers of travel, and it is mostly asphalt. Then 37 kilometers must be covered on horseback.
You will need permits to stay in the border zone (it is better to arrange them in advance in Ust-Kamenogorsk) and on the territory of the Katon-Karagay National Park (this is already in place). Old-timers assure: this lake gives amazing spiritual harmony to everyone who finds themselves on its shore.
Yazevoye Lake, which is famous for its abundance of fish, in particular ide, also contains three-kilogram individuals. In clear weather, the lake offers a magnificent view of Belukha.
