Once upon a time, many thousands of years ago, when there were no people on Earth yet, Fire Djinn lived there.
There were four kinds of djinn: upper and lower djinn, and djinn of the dark and light beginnings of creation, and they contributed to the evolution of human life on our planet. Djinn of different species lived in different areas of the Earth, but in this area they lived side by side.
At first, all the djinn on Earth lived peacefully, but thousands of years passed, reasons appeared, and they began a series of internecine wars. Here in the area of these current islands, the two cities of the upper and lower Jinn were built almost next to each other.
Nowhere on Earth did the cities of two different kinds of djinn stand as close to each other as here, and of course the djinn could not keep the peace either. Preparing for the war, the jinn set the rocks in front of their cities vertically and pulled each land to their city, from which its surface burst, and water flowed through the crack, forming the Irtysh River.
At the same time, the genies of the two cities understood that the war between them was dangerous to the entire planet, since if they started using their magical powers on a full scale at such a distance and in such a limited space, it would split into many small fragments, which would destroy all living things, including themselves. And the rulers of the cities, whose names were Khors and Tslav, decided to appeal to their Supreme Heavenly Court during the negotiations.
In heaven, the life of all the jinn was ruled by the supreme demigod, who was for them the chief judge and legislator. And when Khors and Tslav appeared before him, the demigod ordered all the jinn to leave these cities and this area, leaving them untouched, and move to different continents so as not to disrupt the earthly balance of power.
In order for his decision to be carried out strictly, he put his seal by burning a through cave on the top of a neighboring mountain, now a neighboring island, through which he removed all the jinn from the cities, and through which every upper or lower jinn who decided to return to their cities was obliged to pass from now on.
The mountain became known as “The Hole”, and only those djinn who had no desire to continue the war could pass through its cave, while others were transported by its power to other worlds from which there is no way back for the djinn. Therefore, for all the past tens of thousands of years, not a single upper or lower genie has been able to return here. Under certain conditions, people can see the city of the upper jinn, but for this you need to look at the sky from the shore through the cave at midnight.
