Many centuries ago, tribes of ancient peoples lived on the Sibinsky lakes. They lived in rocky caves. These tribes were famous for their intelligence and wit, they learned to speak and get their own food and fire. They hunted mountain goats, deer and various birds.
But they didn’t catch fish, they were afraid. In those lakes lived a water monster. The lakes are connected to each other under water by corridors, and it moved along them.
Every evening, when the children were put to bed, their mothers told them scary stories about a terrible water monster. How it hunts people, and whoever comes close to the water, it grabs the victim and drags him under the water, and no one will see this person again.
There were many such stories.
One boy did not believe in these terrible fairy tales. After waiting until everyone fell asleep, he went to the first lake, hiding behind a bush, and began to watch the water. At night, the lake water was incredibly beautiful, it reflected the entire starry sky and massive rocks. Suddenly the stars on the lake began to move, and someone’s giant head appeared from the water.
The boy was brave – overcoming his fear, he went out to the incomprehensible creature. It turned out that the ancient people were afraid of it in vain; it fed exclusively on aquatic plants. After this incident, people stopped being afraid of the monster and gave it the name Lesle.
Lesle loved children very much, she would ride them on her massive body. For many years Lesle lived among the inhabitants of the lakes, until people migrated to other places. What happened to Lesle still remains a mystery. Maybe she is still the mistress of the Sibinsky lakes!..
