Tanba

The history of the origin of the name Tanba in the former Third village is briefly as follows. A spring gushed out of the ground on the western outskirts of the current village. Such sources are called tuma. Not far from him, on the mountainside, there was a large rock. Animal figures and signs resembling ancient writings were depicted on its surface.

In the 1980s and 1990s, the flooding of Bukhtarma destroyed the main road, and the path had to be laid at the foot of the mountain. During the road works, the workers planted explosives to clear the highway, and as a result of the explosion, the rock with the ancient signs was completely destroyed.

Undoubtedly, it was this rock with images that played a key role in the fact that the settlement became known as Tanba. It is said that even before the establishment of Soviet power, a group of more than ten houses descended from Zhankis from the Baiten family was already called Tanba.

Today, only a trace remains of the village of Tanba – smoke over the huts of the village of Enbek, located on the right bank of Bukhtarma.

According to popular stories, the famous scientist, critic and literary critic Balamer Sakhariev once photographed the very rock with ancient signs and took the pictures with him.
