Denmark-apai told us this legend when we were sitting on the shore of Lake Korzhinkol and watching the sunset.
– Have you been to the sixth lake? Denmark-apai asked us.
– The sixth lake? – my parents were surprised.
And Denmark apai-began her story…
A long time ago, a tribe lived here. The chief had a beautiful daughter. She wanted to marry her lover. But one day evil people came to the village and demanded the most beautiful girl. And the leader had to give up his daughter.
But the young man wanted to steal his bride. One night, late at night, he went to pick up his beloved. He managed to steal his girlfriend, but they were noticed. And the chase began. The young people decided to run to the mountains.
But they were surrounded. Then the lovers decided to jump off the cliff to always be together. But at that moment, lightning suddenly flashed, and thunder broke out.
A miracle happened: lightning struck a stone, the girl became pure water, and the young man became a stone that protects her. So it turned out to be a lake in stone.
People still come to this place, make a wish and tie ribbons…
The next day we went to look for this place. And when we were sitting on a rock near the lake, we remembered the legend that Denmark-apai told us…
