One day, a detachment led by Kabanbai captured the Dzungars. Not wanting to shed blood in vain, but striving to drive the enemy away from their native land forever, a decision was made: let each prisoner, leaving the Kazakh land, throw a stone into a large pit – such as he can lift – and swear never to cross this border again.

There were so many Dzungars that the stones they threw eventually formed a whole hill. Since then, this place has been called Uygentas – «Stone embankment».
